A woman has reportedly died after suffering repeated physical abuse in a relationship she rekindled with her former partner, according to a man who shared the account online.
The narrator claimed that the woman was initially in a relationship with an Igbo man while living with her sister. However, her sister allegedly opposed the relationship because of his ethnicity and insisted that she should not continue seeing or marry him.
According to him, the disagreement became so serious that the woman was sent out of the house, while other family members were also informed about the relationship.
He claimed that she subsequently moved to her mother’s house, where she reconnected with an ex-boyfriend after their previous relationship had ended.
The narrator alleged that the man was involved in internet fraud and was financially comfortable at the time. The relationship was rekindled, and the woman later became pregnant and gave birth.
He said the first year of the relationship was relatively peaceful and comfortable before her partner allegedly became violent.
According to the account, the woman began experiencing repeated physical abuse, with her partner allegedly waking her from sleep on some occasions to beat her.
The narrator claimed that she reported the abuse to her mother, but was allegedly advised to endure the relationship.
He further alleged that the woman eventually died during one of the violent encounters and was later discovered to have been pregnant at the time of her death.
The man involved has reportedly been taken into police custody in connection with the incident, while the deceased woman’s mother has been left devastated by the tragedy.
The account has sparked concerns over domestic violence and the dangers of encouraging victims to remain in abusive relationships.
